Hello. I have good credit…over 760. However, I want to improve it further. I looked at my experian report and I noticed a couple of things:

1. I closed some credit cards accounts 3 years ago. They are scheduled to be removed from my report in 7 more years. Is this normal? Can I have the credit card companies remove the entry sooner?
2. I noticed on some old account that is says the Credit Limit on a credit card is N/A but then they state that the high balance is $1000 or something like that. Would this cause a probem? Should I contact the credit card company and have them accurately reflect what my original credit limit was? or will this reset the clock until these cards drop off of my credit report.

Are there any other ways to boost my scores?

My partner has run up substantial debts. We have decided to sell his flat to pay off these debts, using the equity he has in our flat (he owns it – I moved in at a later stage when we had our daughter), which is about £40,000. The problem is that after the debts have been paid off there is not enough left use towards buying another place (my partner has bad credit and we would need at least 10% deposit of the asking price). We have been advised to rent until my boyfriends credit repairs itself. He has no CCJ’s but an extremely bad record of paying creditors on time / has had mortgage arrears in the past (until I became aware of the problem and sorted it out). While we plan to save while we are renting it would take us an extremely long time to save 10% of the asking price for a house and we would probably require at least an 80%+ mortgage…My question is – how long is it likely to take for his credit to repair itself? To the point that we would not require an adverse credit mortgage?
Sorry – obviously meant 90% + mortgage, not 80%…
